I recently took on the freelance role of editor at Charter Index, a quarterly business-to-business publication serving the global yacht charter industry. Previously, Charter Index was a catalog of data and information about yachts. My task is to incorporate true editorial content that appeals to retail charter brokers, charter yacht managers, and charter yacht captains.
Our first edition with editorial content was distributed last month, just in time for the annual Antigua Charter Yacht show.I’m pleased to say that all the feedback I received on the docks was highly positive.
Now, Charter Index has launched this news section on its website where the industry-oriented content is available for viewing by the general public. It is the same content that is available in the magazine, only in a digital format.
If you’re interested in the behind-the-scenes discussions of people who sell $250,000-a-week cruising vacations, then I encourage you to take a look. The first few articles include everything from trends in discount pricing to the appropriate percentage of a crew gratuity.
