My fellow BoaterMouth blogger Jeff Hemmel is the co-author of a new book with a great title: “The Anti-Pirate Potato Cannon” (and 101 other things for young mariners to build, try, and do on the water).
As I would expect of Jeff, who was once a professional Jet Ski racer and regularly fills his BoaterMouth blog with videos of people doing adventurous stuff on the water, the book appears to be chock-full of fun and interesting ideas. Kids can brew their own biofuel, build a motorboat from cardboard tubes, steer without a rudder, capture plankton in a net, ski on bare feet, and more.
International Marine is the publisher, or you can order via “The Anti-Pirate Potato Cannon” page on Amazon.com.
Kudos also to co-author David Seidman, a longtime editor at Boating magazine and fellow member of mine in Boating Writers International.
